Receiving an Invitation
When you’re invited to Notehouse, you’ll receive an email with:
- The organization you’re joining
- A link to complete your account setup
- Temporary login details
Click the invitation link in the email that says "Join Team" to begin and follow the instructions in the new window.
Please note, temporary passwords expire after 7 days. Do not attempt to login with a temporary password as it will not work.

Joining Your Team
- Open the invitation link
- Enter the temporary password from the email
- Create a new password (at least 8 characters, with upper- and lowercase letters and a number)
- Confirm your password and accept the Terms of Service
Once submitted, your account setup is complete.

Logging In
After setting your password, you will be redirected to the login page. Please login using your email address and new password. If set up by your Account Owner, you may be asked to choose a Multi-Factor Authentication method. Please select your desired method if so (Authenticator App or SMS), and then login.
Your First Login
On your first login, you can start adding clients if there haven't been any assigned to you yet, and work within Notehouse right away.
Your access is based on the role assigned by your administrator. If you have questions about permissions, check with them directly.
Troubleshooting
If you’re having trouble joining an organization after being invited, please note the following:
1. Temporary passwords expire.
The temporary password included in your invitation email is only valid for a short period of time and will expire in 7 days. If you did not complete the initial verification when the invitation was first sent, the temporary password will no longer work.
In this case, you will need to ask your Administrator or Account Owner to resend the invitation. (See: Managing Invitations.)
2. “Forgot Password” will not work if your account was never verified.
If you have not completed the verification process using your temporary password, your account is not fully active yet.
Verifying your account to join your organization is different from logging in.
You must complete the initial verification step before you can use “Forgot Password.”
Attempting to reset your password before verifying your account may result in your account being locked out.
3. You will not be able to login to Notehouse until you verify your account.
As mentioned above, If you have not completed the verification process using your temporary password, your account is not fully active yet because verifying your account to join your organization is different from logging in. Do not attempt to login to Notehouse with the temporary password, it will not work.
