Viewing and Previewing Attachments

Once files are attached to client notes, you can view them directly in Notehouse without downloading. This guide shows you how to find attachments, preview files in the built-in viewer, and download them when you need a local copy.

Previewing files is ideal for quick reference. If you need to edit, share, or print a document, downloading gives you a copy to work with outside Notehouse.

Finding Attachments

Attachments live inside client notes.

To find them:

  1. Open the client’s detail page
  2. Scroll to the notes section
  3. Look for notes with an attachment icon or file count

Any note showing an attachment indicator contains one or more files.

Previewing Files

Many attachments can be previewed directly in Notehouse.

  1. Open the note containing the attachment
  2. Click the file name
  3. The preview opens in a viewer
  4. Navigate pages or zoom as needed
  5. Close the viewer when finished

Preview tools may include zoom controls, page navigation for PDFs, and full-screen viewing.

Downloading Files

Download attachments when you need to work with them outside Notehouse.

To download a file:

  1. Open the attachment preview or locate the file
  2. Click the Download option
  3. The file saves to your computer

Downloading is useful if you need to edit the document, share it externally, print it, or access it offline.

Supported Preview Formats

Some file types can be previewed in Notehouse, while others require download.

  • PDFs and image files (JPG, PNG) are fully previewable
  • Text files can usually be previewed
  • Word and Excel files may need to be downloaded first

If a file can’t be previewed, simply download it and open it using the appropriate application.
