Closing and Reopening Clients

When a case is complete or a client relationship ends, you can close the client record to keep your active list focused.

Closing a client does not delete any data. The client is simply marked as inactive, and all notes, history, and attachments remain available. You can reopen a client at any time if circumstances change.

Understanding Client Status

Clients can have one of two statuses: Active or Inactive.

Status affects whether a client appears in default views and how they can be filtered or included in reports.

How To Close a Client

  1. Open the client’s record
  2. Scroll down to Manage Client and click to drop down the menu
  3. Select the Close Client option

Once closed, the client moves to inactive status and is removed from default active views, but all data remains intact.

How To Reopen a Client

  1. Filter your client list to show inactive clients
  2. Open the client’s record
  3. Select the option to reopen the client

Viewing Closed Clients

Closed clients are not deleted. You can view them at any time by using the status filter in the clients list and selecting Inactive.
